In May 2011, Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt helped promote the importance of literacy in Clark County while providing generous financial support to The Public Education Foundation. Golden Spoon held the "Bucks for Books" fundraising effort at six Southern Nevada locations. After the month-long campaign, Golden Spoon and its customers raised $542.00 for the Foundation.

Bucks For Books is a campaign that raises funds for the Foundation's literacy initiative Clark County READS. Participating businesses accept donations from customers and employees. In exchange for the donation, the customer or employee writes his or her name on a Bucks For Books card that is then displayed publicly in the business. The proceeds from Bucks For Books support Clark County READS which provides books to students, classrooms, and school libraries throughout the Clark County School District as well as recruits and trains volunteer reading tutors to work with struggling readers.
