Cox logoThe Teacher EXCHANGE™ receives $10,000 from Cox Communications

Cox Communications, Las Vegas, recently donated $10,000 to the Teacher EXCHANGE™, an initiative of The Public Education Foundation that provides materials, equipment, supplies and furniture to Clark County public school teachers and administrators.

The $10,000 was raised during a three-month campaign earlier this year in which Cox donated $10 for each new Cox service ordered by existing or new customers.

“We are extremely grateful for the generosity of Cox Communications and their support of our schoolchildren,” said Judi Steele, president of The Public Education Foundation.  “With Cox’s help, The Public Education Foundation will be able to provide more supplies and materials to local educators to enhance their classroom instruction during these challenging economic times.”

“With the current budget crisis in Nevada, our schools and teachers have been impacted tremendously,” said Steve Schorr, vice president of public and government affairs for Cox Las Vegas. “Thanks to our Southern Nevada customers who participated in the Teacher EXCHANGE™ campaign, we’re proud to donate $10,000 to this very worthwhile program.”

The Teacher EXCHANGE, located at 3165 W. Sunset Road in the southeast corner of the Czarnowski Exhibit Services Building, is a re-use center for Clark County public school teachers and administrators. Donations of new and reusable materials, office supplies, surplus materials, computers, equipment and furniture are collected from businesses and individuals and provided at no charge to teachers to support classroom instruction.

Donations to the Teacher EXCHANGE™ help teachers save approximately $1,500 which they typically spend out of their own pockets on classroom materials each year.
