Our Reading Partner Program allows adult volunteers to share the joy of reading with struggling students during regular school hours. Each volunteer commits to meet consistently with two students for a duration of 12 weeks. Volunteers will be scheduled to work with both students for 1 hour a week (30 minutes per student) during regular school hours.

We do not expect our volunteers to be reading teachers, but rather to model the importance of reading and use techniques taught in orientation to increase children's enjoyment, fluency, and comprehension of the books they read. We try to assign volunteers to a participating school near their home or work.

• Help in the office: general clerical work
• Help with book distribution: pick up and delivery of books and/or various items acroos the city.
