Since 2001, Clark County READS has offered a variety of quality literacy programs to children and families in Clark County. We know strong reading and comprehension skills are crucial if children are to grow up to become self-sufficient and employable adults, capable of becoming partners in the education of their children. Through our signature programs, we empower educators and students to end the cycle of illiteracy while improving student attitudes toward reading. Clark County READS provides books to students, classrooms and school libraries, as well as recruits and trains volunteer reading tutors to work with struggling readers. Clark County READS' programs include Reading Is Fundamental, Reach Out and Read, Reading Partners, Library Enhancement, Book Re-Use, Reading Buddy Book Club and the Toyota Family Literacy Program.
