Visit Clark County READS


Clark County READS is a literacy initiative that provides books to students, classrooms and school libraries, as well as recruits and trains volunteer reading tutors to work with struggling readers.  Clark County READS’ programs include Reading Is Fundamental, Reach Out and Read, Reading Partner, Library Enhancement, Book Re-Use and Boots Up for Reading.

  • Through the Library Enhancement Program, Clark County READS has served nearly 80,000 students in 90 schools by providing school libraries with more than $1.2 million worth of brand new non-fiction books.
  • Through the Reading Is Fundamental Program, Clark County READS has given nearly 500,000 brand new books to students in at-risk CCSD elementary schools.
  • Through the Reading Partner Program, Clark County READS has trained and placed nearly 1,700 volunteers to work one-on-one with struggling readers in CCSD elementary schools.
