IMPROVEMENT
IMPACT GRANTS
Important note: The deadline Educational Improvement IMPACT GRANTS has passed. Applications are posted for review purposes only.
Established to encourage public school staff to
try new ideas, these grants support innovative student-based programs
and projects that have the ability to be replicated or adapted
district-wide. Teams or individuals employed by the Clark County
School District are eligible to apply.
Educational Improvement IMPACT GRANTS represent the first grant
program offered by The Foundation. In 1992, 12 grants totaling
$23,000 were awarded. IMPACT GRANTS continue to fund new strategies
and methodologies designed to motivate students and keep alive
their natural eagerness to learn. These innovative student-based
ideas must demonstrate measurable results and have the ability
to be replicated at other school campuses.
Members of The Public Education Foundation Grant
Review Committee are selected from the business and education community
and from the members of the Board of The Public Education Foundation.
The committee reviews and judges each grant application on the
following:
• Ability to provide an innovative solution
to an important education issue
• Potential to significantly impact learning
• Clarity
• Evaluation design
• Ability of the project to be replicated
or adapted
After the awards are made and the grants are implemented:
• A project audit is conducted by an Audit
Team composed of one member of the business community and one member
from the education community.
• A final project report is required from
the grant recipient.
At the end of each school year, Education Improvement
IMPACT GRANT applications and instructions are distributed district-wide
by The Public Education Foundation. An announcement is also made
in the spring and fall issues of The Clark County School District
HOTLINE.
There are three areas in which IMPACT GRANTS can
be submitted:
IMPACT I, The Innovator, grant program is designed
to support innovators of projects that address significant educational
issues, demonstrate improved student performance, and have the
potential to impact systemic change. Innovators will be awarded
grants between $500 to $3,000.
IMPACT II, The Developer, grant program is designed
to encourage developers of proven strategies and programs to produce
materials that will enable others to replicate these exemplary
projects. Developers will be awarded grants of up to $1,000 to
develop replication materials.
IMPACT III, The Adapter, grant program is designed
to support adapters, those educators and/or support staff interested
in replicating award-winning programs. Plans demonstrating a high
success potential will be awarded grants of up to $1,000 to assist
them in the replication process.
All approved grants will be awarded in October
and must be used by the following June. For additional information,
